SA Tomorrow Sub-area Plans

The Result

Working with MIG Denver, Bowtie is developing 30 distinct web properties, with 5 distinct phases that evolve as each sub-area plan moves from initial exploration, through public engagement and participation, and finally to full city adoption. These searchable, mobile friendly city websites are both a living tool and an archive for each highlighted community. Once adopted, each plan is made readily available in English or Spanish, using community solicited translations.

By 2040, San Antonio’s population is expected to increase by approximately 1 million people. SA Tomorrow is an innovative, three-pronged planning effort to guide the city toward smart, sustainable growth. Our challenge has been to design and build 30 planning websites, which each evolve through a series of 5 distinct phases.

Bowtie has been working with The City of San Antonio and our Planning partners to consistently deploy ‘living’ sites which adapt and change through five distinct phases of each sub-area plan. By rapidly iterating, and working closely with city planning staff, we are able to keep these web properties dynamic and performative while the distinct challenges, opportunities, and assets of each of the 30 highlighted Regional Centers and Community Areas take shape.
